I’m faced with an opportunity. There is a significant chance I will fail if I take this opportunity. I don’t… because I don’t want to fail.
For a look at God’s perspective on my decision, check out vs. 26 below.
Matthew 25:24-30
24 “Then the servant with the one bag of silver came and said, ‘Master, I knew you were a harsh man, harvesting crops you didn’t plant and gathering crops you didn’t cultivate. 25 I was afraid I would lose your money, so I hid it in the earth. Look, here is your money back.’
26 “But the master replied, ‘You wicked and lazy servant! If you knew I harvested crops I didn’t plant and gathered crops I didn’t cultivate, 27 why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank? At least I could have gotten some interest on it.’
28 “Then he ordered, ‘Take the money from this servant, and give it to the one with the ten bags of silver. 29 To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. 30 Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
If I have an opportunity to do good, but I’m too scared of failure to take it, God has a name for that (two actually): “wicked and lazy.”
Wait a minute. “Wicked and lazy!!??” I’m not cursing anyone out, robbing banks or laying around all day watching Soap Operas and Oprah re-runs.
And yet “wicked and lazy” is exactly the description God uses for those who are so afraid to fail that they will not risk what God has given them.
We’re planning to restructure our small group ministry at Northstar. It’s a risk. I’m overwhelmed. I’m terrified.
But by taking this risk, I could experience God in new and fresh ways… or I could fail… or both.
For though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again. – Proverbs 24:16
Is there something you’re afraid to attempt for God? Don’t be wicked and lazy.
Risk.
Fail.
Experience God.
Succeed.

It seem so simple now if we have taken that step, open that door, pick up the phone or just do something instead of nothing.May God bless us off all our fears and direct all of us tO his path to his Glory!! We should never fear God he is our Creator and Father!!!
